I don't have much on during the summer, but one musical celebration I've been a part of for quite some time now is Lake Chelan BachFest, and THIS is a photo of the Lake Chelan BachFest 2024 Violas Section! =D
L -> R we have Austin Schlichting, Anna Aldrich, ME, and Chris Foerstel. Anna is a very good friend I first met in the Yakima Symphony back in 2017, and Chris&Austin I've know since I was probably in middle school!! #LocalYokels #BachBrat I've been a part of BachFest since 2018, and it is such a lovely, HOT, get-the-hell-outta-here gig during the summer with some happy people =) oh, and #LocalMythPizza #IFYKYK Also, Thank You so much to Lakeside Lodge & Suites for hosting me during the whole festival againn, and to North Cascades Family Chiropractic for sponsering my chair in the orchestra, and to BETH for being such a legend in all things BachFest! This bit of absolute fabulousness came from my step-sister Alex and her bf/man-friend/partner-dude, Seb as a wedding gift when I got married! It is intended as a reminder that the relief and joy of "letting go" of negativity is available to allll of us...we just have to choose it!
(Native+Kitty)Wedding=PERFECT. Did I count that right? #IntegratedMathsKid #MusicianNotMathmatician #RightBrainBrian Recently had a lunch with my Mom, and made a trip through the Seattle Art Museum. She recommended I see the Jaune Quick-to -See Smith exhibit. Was very interesting, with some tough stuff to take in, as well as some good ndn humor =)
Also, the eatery Market, which is within the museum, was very lovely. Don't be scared by the prices necessarily because you do get what you pay for at least. And a good selection of wines for us two winos. The exhibit is on until May12 (Mother's Day), so go get into it! https://www.seattleartmuseum.org/exhibitions/smith So Michael and I received this beautiful drum as a wedding gift from our wonderful friend Kathy, with the idea that it will receive art work on it. I thought for a while that I should/could have a go myself, but nearly 5 years in, I'm super glad I waited to have a skilled artist have at it. This is certainly not the item to "have a go" with, and I see that now lol
I have an artist in mind, Nahaan, but if anyone has any recommendations for a native artists in the western Washington area, I'm all ears! This particular project might take a minute to get off and running, but I will be sure to keep this blog up to date when it does get started, and possibly my other socials...when they get set up :p I'm quite excited at the potential for this treasure! To kick off this blog, I present to you all, my first Preston Singletary piece! I just recently received it as a gift from my Dad, who knows I am, and who is also, a bigbig fan or Mr. Singletary. Hopefully it will be the first of many Singletary pieces to treasure! Not sure if there is a title, so I've just been calling him "MoonMan" =)
